Simple question for a boring Sunday night: which brand have you driven the most models of? For example, mine would be Ford, with eight:
-Edge, Explorer, Taurus, Mustang, Fusion, F-150, Focus, Fiesta
Chevy:
-Impala, Sonic, Trailblazer
And a five way tie for last.
Nissan:
-Maxima
Honda:
-Civic Hybrid
Mazda:
-Mazda6
Buick:
-Encore
Toyota:
-Corolla
So, what’s your list like?

I’ve driven every vehicle Mercedes made for the 2015 and 2016 model years, so no point naming all of them. Some highlights include the c63 507 edition, the c63 first edition, a Mercedes-Maybach s600, an S65 sedan, S63 coupe, SL63.
Now that I think about it, I never did get to drive an slk55 or SL65...
I've driven most fca and Mazda products as well.

Uh, let’s see....what have I driven over the years....
In no particular order:
1993 Chevy Cavalier sedan
1993 Dodge Caravan SE
2003 Hyundai Elantra sedan
2007 Kia Magentis
2009 Hyundai Accent sedan
2010 Hyundai Accent sedan

2007 Subaru WRX STi
2008 Subaru Outback XT
2006 Honda Accord sedan
2000 Honda Civic sedan
2010 Kia Forte
1999 Mercury Cougar
Probably one or two more that I am forgetting, but company I’ve driven the most cars from? Probably Hyundai/Kia at 6. Subaru would be second at 3.

Honda:
-3rd gen Prelude
-4th gen Prelude (S, Si)
-5th gen Prelude (base, SH)
-4th gen Accord
-6th gen Civic
-8th gen Civic Si
-9th gen Civic Si
Also both generations of TSX if you count them as Hondas since they were sold as the Accord overseas. I’m not counting my TL or the TLX loaners I’ve had as Hondas since they were only ever sold as Acuras.
Acura:
-4th gen TL (AWD)
- TLX (V6 FWD, V6 AWD)
-TSX (both generations)
-maybe an RSX and Integra?
Ford:
-mid-90s Ranger
-mid-90s F150
-Focus ST
-Focus RS (also the fastest car I’ve driven)
Nissan:
-mid-00s Altima
-350Z
Also the G37 if that counts since it was a Skyline in Japan (bro).

Toyota, probably? All of the trucks, SUVs, and crossovers, plus various Camrys and Corollas, and multiple generations of each, for model years daring back to the early ‘90s.
BMW is definitely second if it isn’t first —I’ve owned 5 and rented or borrowed or test driven many others.

Driven is tough. I know Ford leads the pack since I’ve owned a Gran Torino, Probe GT, Mustang GT, Windstar, and Mercury Mariner but after that it gets hazy as I don’t often drive cars owned by other people but I've driven a ton of different cars once or twice . Probably Chevy due to two Camaros and a very brief affair with a Monte Carlo.

A lot. I don’t think I can remember them all. I worked for one of the rental companies, so I drove nearly everything from 1999 to 2005 model years. Plus I used to go test drive cars all the time when I was bored, and anyone who ever asked me if I wanted to drive their car got a “yes” from me. That’s how I know how a 1984 Renault Encore drives. (Not that great, actually.)
Some of the memorable ones are a ‘99 Camaro Z28, an ‘05 Saturn Ion Red Line (so much fun), a brand new 2000 Volvo V70 that I rented and went on a 3600 mile road trip with a buddy, my parents’ ‘90 F-150 which I’m in love with, my ‘ 09 Ranger that I miss a lot, and my ‘83 Celebrity which was my de facto first car and was awesome.

This is difficult for me because in addition to everything my family and friends and I owned over the years, there’s a fleet of about 200 vehicles out there, most of which I’ve driven at least into and out of the shop. But here goes nothing.
Chevrolet: cobalt; Silverado, half, three quarter, and one ton each of every generation since 1990 plus a ‘75 one-ton square body with a wrecked body ; S uburban and Tahoe 1/2 tons from ~2000 to current including PPV ; Venture; Uplander; Cruze; both gens Colorado; S10 and Blazer from the gen before them; Nuumi Nova; 1st and 2nd w-body Impalas and a ‘76; G20 van; Express; Aveo; Cavalier; Equinox; 80's Caprice; HHR
Pontiac: G5; Firefly; Trans Sport; Montana; Sunfire; Torrent; G6; Parisienne; Fiero; Grand Am; Grand Prix;
Buick: Century
Ford: F-1,2,and350 from ‘90 to current; Ranger; E150; Fusion; Focus; Edge; Escape; Windstar; Aerostar; Transit Connect; Explorer; Crown Vic (p71 and regular); Flex; Taurus; Bronco;
Subaru: Legacy; Outback; Imprezza; Forester
Dodge: 1/2 through 1 ton from ~2000 to current; Dakota; Mid 2000's Charger; Caravan and Grand Caravans; Journey; Stratus
Nissan: Rogue; Altima; Frontier; Micra
Honda: Civc; Fit;
Mazda: 6 wagon; 3 sedan
Hyundai: Santa Fe; Accent
Kia: Whatever their Santa Fe thing is called, and their minivan
Chrysler: Concorde; PT Cruiser; Town & Country (minivan); 200; Pacifica; 300M
Jeep: YJ, TJ, JK Wranglers ; XJ, KL Cherokee; ZJ, WJ, WK Grand Cherokee; MJ Comanche; KJ, KK Liberty; Patriot; Compass; BU Renegade;
Lada: Niva (two of them!)
Toyota: Corolla; Camry; Taco; RAV4; Prius; Echo; Sienna
GMC: 90's half, 3/4, 1-ton, 2008 half-ton; G25 van, Savannah; Acadia; s15 Jimmy; Envoy XL
Couple Freightliners, Internationals, a Kenworth, a Sterling, and a Western Star, all either garage trucks or highway plows;
And I’m sure I’m missing a whole bunch. Like I’m sure I’ve driven a couple Oldses as well. But I think the Chevs are in a solid lead here.

This is an epic challenge. It’s mostly whatever ends up in rental fleets, as the vast majority of these cars were rentals, but with at least a couple hundred car rentals in my lifetime, it’s likely I’m forgetting a lot of them (all the really bad ones are all below, because they were burned into my memory).
Chrysler: 300, 200, PT Cruiser
Dodge: Charger, Stratus, Avenger, Intrepid, Spirit, Caravan, Caliber, Neon, Ram Van, Ram Truck, Durango, Dakota
Plymouth: Neon, Breeze
Jeep: Wrangler
Chevrolet: Cavalier, Caprice, Sonic, Spark, Malibu, Impala, Aveo, Lumina, Cobalt, HHR, C/K, Nova II, Express
GMC: Acadia
Pontiac: Bonneville, G6
Buick: LeSabre
Saturn: S series
Ford: Focus, Fiesta, ZX2, Fusion, Taurus, Bronco, Five-Hundred, Edge, Escort, Mustang, F-150, F-350, E-150, E-350
Mercury: Sable, Grand Marquis
Lincoln: LS
Toyota: Corolla, 4Runner, Camry, 86
Subaru: Outback
Mazda: Mazda3, RX-7
Land Rover: Discovery Sport
Nissan: NX2000, Altima, Qashqai
VW: T2 Transporter
BMW: 7-series, 5-series, 3-series
Mercedes-Benz: E-class, C-class
Mitsubishi: Eclipse
Lexus: LX
Kia: Sportage, Sorento, Optima, Forte, Soul
Hyundai: Elantra, Sonata, Tucson
Honda: Fit
I really don’t know how to tally some of them up and I’m sure I’m missing a number of models on this list. Brand alone: 14 Ford, 13 Chevrolet, 12 Dodge. By corporation: 18 Chrysler models, 18 GM models, 17 Ford models. Distantly behind these is Kia at 5 and Hyundai/Kia (corp) at 8. Everyone else is basically noise.
If it’s owned, it’s: 2 Ford, 1 Lincoln, 1 Mazda, 1 Chevrolet. I’ve had good luck with Ford vehicles for some reason. Even the Mazda is kind of related.
